Neither the organisers, nor any person acting on their behalf, accept liability for any loss or damage, accident, injury or illness to ponies, horses or riders or any spectator or other persons or property whatsoever. Furthermore the organisers of this event have taken precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective everyone present at the event must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instruction of the organisers, officials and stewards.
The public are required not to enter any ring or enclosure and be vigilant of vehicles and horses moving around the showground.
No refund will be given for the non-appearance of an exhibit.

THE OVERALL HORSE CHAMPIONSHIP To be judged on a points basis by respective breed judges, will be judged at the completion of all the relevant horse sections at approx. 3.30pm.
The J W Hall Memorial Trophy will be awarded together with a Special Prize of £25 kindly donated by Lord Barnard to the Overall Champion, from Classes H1-H51 (inclusive). All horses must be shown in hand for this Championship. Fourth prize Rosettes will be awarded in all Horse Classes.
The Police have asked the society to stop ponies from being ridden or led amongst the crowd. Please comply as they have asked us to disqualify offenders.

Fell Pony Breeder's Association Gold Shield Rosette - to be presented to the highest placed pony in Class H12 which has not won this award in a previous show in 2008 (not restricted to F.P.B.A. members). H15 - LOCAL CLASS. COLT, GELDING OR FILLY, Two years and over. Restricted to owners living in the Parishes of Woodland, Eggleston, Middleton-in-Teesdale, Upper Teesdale, Lunedale, Baldersdale, Langleydale and Marwood, Hamsterley, Staindrop, Romaldkirk, Mickleton, Lartington and Cotherstone. CHAMPION Fell Pony will be awarded The Darlington and Stockton Times Trophy. The Mrs N. Earnshaw Trophy will be awarded to the winner of Class H9.
REGISTERED SHETLAND PONIES 1. Classes must be confined to registered ponies. Ponies must be named on the entry form and in the catalogue if one is produced. Society rosettes must only be given to ponies registered with the Society or eligible for registration (i.e. foals) 2. Three year old fillies with foals at foot may not be shown. All foals must be a minimum of three weeks old on the day of the Show. 3. There must be no colts or entire males in Young Handlers classes. Children under 14 yrs old may not show colts (excluding foals) or entire males in In-hand classes. Children under 11 yrs old may not show entire males in ridden classes. In the interests of safety, hard hats must be worn by all handlers aged 14 yrs or under in In-hand classes. Hard hats must be worn by all exhibitors, irrespective of age, in ridden classes. In Ridden Classes, if a rider falls off at any time whilst in the Ring, both pony and rider must leave the Ring, rider dismounted, and take no further part.

BSPA CLASSES ARE OPEN TO SKEWBALD AND PIEBALD HORSES AND PONIES ONLY. These classes are affiliated to the british Skewbald & Piebald Association and are qualifiers for THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS OF COLOUR National Championship Show 2008, to be held at The College, EC Keysoe, Beds. 23-25 August. All classes will be judged within the rules and criteria of the BSPA (Copies of the rule book and membership/horse registration overstamping forms can be obtained from the show office 01354 638225 or downloaded from www,bspaonline.com. ALL stallions 4 years and over MUST be graded and Licensed + Registered with the BSPA in order to compete. Open to members and non-members. HORTICULTURE _ RULES 1. Entrance Fees to be paid at the time of entry, which close on 11th September. 2. Exhibitors will be allowed to enter more than one article in each class and any objection to any prize must be made to the Secretary not later than 3pm on Show Day and accompanied by a deposit of £10. 3. All exhibits to be on the ground by 10.00am, and none will be received after the Tent is closed for judging. No Exhibitor can remove their goods or prize cards until after 4.30pm. At 4.30pm the Tent will be closed and only exhibitors with marquee passes will be allowed back in to collect their Exhibits and where applicable prize cards and prize money. POULTRY (Standard Bred) _ Rules Prizes: £3, £2, £1 Judging at 10.00am. Entry fee 50p Fourth Prize of 30p if more than 10 entries.
1. No entry will be accepted unless accompanied by the full amount of entrance fee. 2. The Committee can assure exhibitors that the greatest care will be taken of all exhibits by the Stewards, but it must be distinctly understood that the Committee will not be responsible for any loss or damage to any exhibit arising from accident or any other cause. 3. No amalgamation or cancellation of classes, but if less than four entries in any class only half prize money paid. 4. Exhibits must be on the show ground not later than 9.30 on the morning of the Show. 5. Persons failing to send birds entered for competition will forfeit their entrance fee, and specimens entered in wrong classes will be disqualified. 6. All exhibits in the selling classes must be sold, if claimed, at Catalogue price and 10% commission will be deducted for the benefit of the Society. All claims must be paid by 3.30pm. All exhibits in the selling classes, and any other exhibits for which there is more than one claimant, will be offered by public auction, and sold to the highest bidder at 3.30pm, and 10% will be deducted from the sales effected at catalogue prices, and an additional 50% upon any excess realised at the auction above these prices. All exhibits sold shall be deemed to be from the time of purchase at the sole risk of the purchaser. The society will not be responsible for the safe packing and transit of the same. 7. No other bedding to be put in pens except that provided by the society. Male and Female to mean birds of any age. 8. No rail stock accepted.
